I shot motocross for the first time last weekend. I’ve been meaning to do it for a while now as I’ve always had an interest in shooting bikes but just never got round to it. They came out okay, unfortunately I wasn’t allowed anywhere other than the spectator area which was tiny resulting in all my photo’s being a bit samey but towards the end of the day I was getting a bit more creative and I got some shots I was relatively pleased with! Below are my favourite three as usual and the rest of the set are over my facebook!
On Friday night I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot at Lightbox in Vauxhall for the launch party of The Upfront Project, a new Friday night event for Lightbox. The launch party, which was free entry, was a roadblock and by 1 o’clock the venue was rammed pretty much to capacity. The line-up made the night an eclectic mix of the different bass genres starting at Old School Disco all the way through to Drum & Bass so no matter what your tastes there was sure to be something to please! Here’s a few of my favourite photos from the night, the whole set will be up on The Upfront Project’s Facebook and also on my own page too shortly.
Saturday night saw the impressive arches of the old Arcadia venue on Southwark St. be filled with ravers once again and it’s walls shaken by the incredible music being produced under Deadmau5’s label ‘Mau5trap’. The night saw the likes of Noisia, Foreign Beggars, Feed Me, Bare Noize, Tommy Trash, Posij and many more take the stage. the crowd partied on through the sweat and heat in traditional warehouse party style and the whole night seemed to go down a storm with the main room being full to burst right up until close. Saturday night was the first night I was shooting under ‘Hungry Media’ so keep an eye out for the pictures over at the London Warehouse Events website and over on my new Facebook page! Here’s a few of my favorite shots from the night as usual and you can catch me next Saturday night at The Playground!
Today I launched my new venture called ‘Hungry Media’! This is the name that all of my music work is going to be under, however I’m still going to be using this blog and my old website for now just with the new logo that you can see below! I’m hoping that this new brand name that is only associated with my music work will help me expand onto the scene.. Only time will tell!
Today I managed to get out and shoot some bikes! It must have been nearly a year since I last shot bikes and it felt great to do it again. I met a few friends at my local spot and the weather was great resulting in some shots that I’m kinda pleased with. I also managed to play around with an 8mm which was different and I’m pleased with the outcome, so much so it’s made me want one (or an 11-16)! I wish… Anyway, enough dreaming. Here’s a couple of shots from today!
P.s. What do you think of the new/bigger image sizes?!
Wow this is my first post in a while! On Saturday night I was given the great opportunity of photographing at The Playground at the KOKO Theatre in London. The line-up was massive with Crookers, Alex Metric, Haezer and Nadastrom headlining and the production team had gone all out to create a great show, building a huge set out of giant cubes and projecting onto it with 3D mapping! The whole night went down a storm and the tiny old theatre was full to burst. Here’s a few my favourite shots from the night, be sure to check out The Playground’s facebook page over the next week for the rest of the shots and remember to check out their next event in July with Datsik and Modestep headlining, you won’t be disappointed!
Just launched my new site; jakedavisphoto.co.uk! Be sure to check it out. I’ll still be using this blog to keep you all updated with my happenings though so don’t leave! Here’s a picture to get you all ready for the weekend:
